OPS are a Structural Engineering consultancy who work on interesting and complex projects which include:
The design of the landmark YTL Arena and associated Brabazon development in Bristol.
The design of the IStructE award winning Adele 25 Stage.
Extensive consultancy, design and analysis work at London’s leading stadiums, including Wembley Stadium, London Stadium, the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium and Twickenham.
Working with some of the UK’s leading architects, our aim is to design efficient, elegant and sustainable structures through innovation and creativity, while providing a high-quality service to our clients.
What we’re looking for
We are looking for talented and enthusiastic structural engineers to work on high-profile projects in our Structures team in Cirencester. The following is expected:
A degree in Civil or Structural Engineering (Minimum 2:1).
At least 3 years of experience as a structural engineer.
An ability to design structures by hand, as well as experience with design software such as Robot Structural Analysis or Tekla Structural Designer.
Working towards, or having recently achieved chartership with the Institution of Structural Engineers or Institution of Civil Engineers.
Good communication skills, both verbally and written. An ability to present your technical work effectively.
A personality sharing our passion for engineering and design and a desire to positively contribute to the progress and delivery of our projects and the growth and development of the company as a whole.
What you’ll do
You will be working as part of a well-respected team who will encourage and support your development and career progression. In addition to benefitting from working alongside directors of the company you will work closely with the team in Cirencester and London, following our ‘two offices, one team’ principle.
Our projects are highly variable and often focus on complex structures. The ideal candidate will be open-minded, creative and will enjoy being tasked with something that they’ve never tackled before.
Typical tasks include:
Producing design calculations and analysis models for steel, reinforced concrete, timber and masonry structures.
Attending internal and external design meetings with architects and other consultants.
Sketching structural solutions.
Working with BIM Technicians to produce relevant structural information.
Gathering of information, carrying out surveys & research.
You will work in a highly collaborative manner and be expected to contribute and take an interest in other projects going on in the office, as well as embracing the same shared knowledge and experience on your own projects.
