Millennium Stadium

The first retractable roof stadium in the UK seats 72,500 spectators in a family friendly environment. Built for the Rugby World Cup 1999, the 220m x 180m column free space has an opening roof of 76m x 115m directly above the pitch. Mike Otlet led the design of the steelwork roof and mast structures assisted by Mike Stephens.
